A unified platform for C5ISR excellence

Defense programs that source displays, processors and recorders from separate vendors inherit integration risk, support complexity and lifecycle gaps. Spectra was built to solve that problem.

Our portfolio spans the entire data lifecycle — from high-speed data acquisition and sensor recording through mission computing and encrypted storage to ruggedized displays and human-machine interfaces. These capabilities are designed to work together from day one, pre-integrated and backed by unified support.

The result: Customers get specialized expertise trusted for decades, plus integrated capabilities that accelerate program success and reduce lifecycle costs.

We design and manufacture ruggedized commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions that meet demanding MIL-STD requirements. Our engineering teams transform commercial technologies into mission-ready systems that withstand extreme temperatures, humidity, shock, vibration and electromagnetic interference.

We work closely with military contractors to develop solutions that meet exact operational requirements — and we stand behind what we deliver.

Built on proven expertise

Spectra Defense Technologies was formed in 2021 through the strategic unification of three proven C5ISR companies. Calculex, founded in 1986 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, brought decades of airborne data recording and flight test instrumentation expertise — including co-authorship of the IRIG-106 Chapter 10 standard and three inventions that became U.S. DoW standards.

Argon, with over 35 years of experience starting in Great Neck, New York, contributed ruggedized display and human-machine interface solutions trusted on combat vehicles, naval vessels and aircraft flight decks worldwide.

Galleon added advanced mission computing and encrypted storage capabilities, with NIAP-approved, CSfC-listed encryption and global engineering operations spanning the United States and Europe.

Together under Spectra, these complementary strengths deliver end-to-end C5ISR capability from sensor to screen — something no single legacy organization could provide alone.

Integrated solutions across the data lifecycle

Spectra captures mission data at the point of collection — from airborne flight test instrumentation to ISR sensor feeds. High-speed, multi-format recording systems handle the volume, variety and velocity of modern sensor environments.

Product families:
RIPR series, RAPTOR

From edge computing at the tactical level to secure networked storage, Spectra processes and protects mission data throughout the chain. NIAP-approved, CSfC-listed encryption provides the highest levels of data-at-rest protection for classified operations.

Product families:
XSR, G2, NAS servers

Spectra puts mission-critical information in front of operators through ruggedized displays, workstations and human-machine interfaces engineered for combat vehicles, naval vessels, aircraft flight decks and command centers.

Product families:
ARD series, tablets, mission computers

More than components. Complete systems working together.
